Scroll through Pinterest or TikTok for five minutes while planning a wedding and you’ll notice something. Mixed in between the florals and the venue inspo and the dress details, there’s a very specific feeling showing up over and over again. Grainy. Warm. A little imperfect. Like it was shot on a disposable camera at the best party you’ve ever been to.
That’s the film photography aesthetic — and it is absolutely everywhere right now.

Every photo on the left in this blog post is edited in the film photography aesthetic. Every photo on the right in this blog post is edited in our classic, moody, cinematic editing style.
There’s something about a film-inspired image that a crisp, clean digital photo simply can’t replicate. It’s nostalgic in a way that feels almost emotional — like you’re looking at a memory rather than a photograph. The grain, the slightly faded tones, the warmth that feels like late afternoon sun through an old window — it transports you. It makes even a brand new moment feel timeless.
In a sea of perfectly polished images, something that feels a little raw and real stands out in the best possible way. Couples aren’t just asking for pretty photos anymore — they’re asking for photos that feel like something. That have mood and texture and depth. And the film aesthetic delivers all of that in a way that resonates deeply with what modern couples actually want from their galleries.

When we work with a new couple, one of the first things we do is dig into their inspiration. And lately, almost every Pinterest board we’re looking at has that filmy, cinematic quality woven through it. The grain, the warm tones, the slightly dreamy imperfection — it’s everywhere. Couples have a very clear vision for how they want their wedding day to feel, and we take that seriously.

Here’s where we get excited. We’ve started including a small selection of film-inspired edits in every single one of our galleries — so our couples get the best of both worlds.
The film-inspired images are nostalgic and grainy, a little moody, disposable-camera-adjacent in the best possible way. They feel like they could have been taken decades ago and discovered in a shoebox. They’re the ones you’ll print and frame and show your grandkids.
The classic edits are true-to-color, timeless, and moody — the kind of images that will still feel beautiful and relevant twenty years from now regardless of what’s trending.
Together, they tell a more complete story. You get the trendy, atmospheric images that match your Pinterest board and the classic documentation of your day that stands the test of time. We love being able to offer both because we genuinely believe no couple should have to choose.

The film photography aesthetic isn’t just a passing trend — it taps into something deeper that couples have always wanted from their wedding photos. That feeling of authenticity. Of imperfection that somehow makes everything more beautiful. Of a moment that feels real rather than staged.
We’ve always been drawn to moody, cinematic, story-driven photography. Adding film-inspired edits to our process felt like a natural extension of everything we already believe about what great wedding photos should feel like.

So let's tell it right.
We're not here to make you fit a mold.
We're here to break it with you.
I'm Samantha, the dreamer behind the lens, the one asking "but how did that make you feel?" and probably overthinking your photo timeline (in the best way). I'm driven by the process: the storytelling, the editing, and that magical energy that happens when people feel safe enough to be themselves.
Brady's my other half in life and in business, the people person who makes friends with your entire wedding party and catches those in-between shots no one else saw. While I'm crafting the vision, he's reading the room and making sure everyone feels at ease.
