There are weddings you photograph, and then there are weddings that just stay with you. Genna and Shaun’s fall celebration at River Road and Jasmine House and Gardens was the latter — one of those days where the light cooperated, the love was palpable, and everything felt exactly the way it was supposed to.
November in South Carolina hits different. The air finally gets that genuine fall crispness, the foliage turns rich and warm, and the light sits lower in the sky and casts everything in gold. You genuinely cannot manufacture it in editing. Genna and Shaun’s day gave us all of that in abundance.

Genna and Shaun chose to do a first look, and if you’ve been on the fence about whether that’s right for your wedding day, let their story make the case. There is something so real about those moments — just the two of you, no audience, no performance. When Shaun turned around, his reaction was exactly the kind of thing we got into wedding photography for.
First looks aren’t for everyone, and we’ll always support whatever feels most authentic to you. But for this couple, it set the tone for their entire day — calm, intentional, and deeply connected. By the time they walked down the aisle, they weren’t nervous. They were just ready.

If you’re a South Carolina couple looking for a venue with real character, River Road and Jasmine House and Gardens delivers. The grounds are lush, layered, and have that slightly romantic, untamed quality that photographs so beautifully in fall light — especially for couples who want their wedding to feel cinematic rather than catalog-perfect. As Columbia SC wedding photographers, it’s genuinely one of our favorite places to work.
The November weather was generous. Mild temperatures, golden light, a sky that looked edited but wasn’t. Genna’s florals echoed the warm tones of the season and the whole day felt cohesive in that effortless way that only happens when everything just clicks.

Every couple has a quality that shows up in the in-between moments if you know to look for it. With Genna and Shaun, it was ease. The way they settled into each other, the natural laughter, the way he’d reach for her hand without thinking about it. You can’t prompt that — you can only create the right conditions and then get out of the way.
Those quiet, unscripted moments are what we’re always chasing. The private smile during the ceremony. The exhale after the vows. The image that will still make you feel something twenty years from now.
To Genna & Shaun — thank you for trusting us with your story. Your November day was genuinely one of our favorites, and we are so glad we got to be there for it.

So let's tell it right.
We're not here to make you fit a mold.
We're here to break it with you.
I'm Samantha, the dreamer behind the lens, the one asking "but how did that make you feel?" and probably overthinking your photo timeline (in the best way). I'm driven by the process: the storytelling, the editing, and that magical energy that happens when people feel safe enough to be themselves.
Brady's my other half in life and in business, the people person who makes friends with your entire wedding party and catches those in-between shots no one else saw. While I'm crafting the vision, he's reading the room and making sure everyone feels at ease.
