As South Carolina wedding photographers, we live for the kind of days that feel like home. And this one was home—held at Alia’s childhood home, tucked into the quiet countryside in Loris, South Carolina. From the moment we arrived, it was clear this wedding wasn’t about tradition—it was about intention.

A Private First Look Under the Wisteria
Before the ceremony, Alia & Evan shared a quiet first look beneath a cascade of blooming purple wisteria. Spring had painted the scene perfectly—petals drifting in the breeze, soft sunlight filtering through the blossoms. The way they laughed together, held each other, and soaked in the moment was pure magic. These are the candid, unscripted moments we love to capture—the ones that don’t feel posed, but lived-in and real.

A Vow Exchange Meant Just for Two
After the ceremony, the couple did something we’ll never forget: they slipped away to exchange private vows. No guests. No photographers. Just the two of them. We captured a few portraits as they found their secluded spot, then gave them space to speak their hearts freely. That kind of trust means everything to us.

Food Trucks, Yard Games, and a Laid-Back Celebration
Instead of a formal reception with dancing, Alia & Evan set up yard games across the lawn. Cornhole, giant Jenga, and plenty of laughter kept everyone smiling as the sun dipped lower in the sky. Three local food trucks—Knowledge Perk, Gnosh Pit, and Benito’s—served up incredible food and drinks all evening. Guests roamed freely, grazing and gathering under the string lights.

Why We’ll Never Forget This Loris, South Carolina Wedding
As moody South Carolina wedding photographers, we’re always drawn to stories that unfold with honesty. Alia & Evan’s wedding wasn’t filled with timelines and formalities—it was filled with freedom, emotion, and quiet joy. From the barefoot bride to the golden-hour portraits under the wisteria, this day felt like a poem.
If you’re planning your own South Carolina backyard wedding—or dreaming up something a little different—we’d love to document it. Because your wedding deserves to be as unique as you are.
