There’s something magical about an early autumn morning, especially when it starts at 4:30 AM with a drive up into the mountains for a wedding day! This past Saturday, we had the joy of photographing Allison & Conner’s beautiful afternoon tea-inspired wedding at Song Hill Reserve in Landrum, South Carolina, with breathtaking views of the Upstate’s rolling mountains.

Allison & Conner’s vision for their wedding was as refreshing and relaxed as the couple themselves. They chose a charming brunch spread with every detail carefully curated: a coffee and tea bar, bubbly mimosas, and an incredible assortment of brunch foods and pastries. This thoughtful choice set the perfect tone for a laid-back, joyful celebration in the golden light of the fall afternoon.

We arrived bright and early at 7:30 AM to start capturing all the small moments that make a wedding day unforgettable. The drive up the mountain was dark, but the promise of a gorgeous day ahead kept us energized. Once we arrived, the mountain views bathed in early light made the trip more than worth it.

One of the most special details of the day was Allison’s two bridal looks. For the ceremony, she wore an elegant gown with a beautiful overskirt that added a layer of soft, romantic volume. Then, as the celebration moved into the reception, Allison removed the overskirt for a fun, more party-ready look that let her dance and celebrate with ease. Her style transition perfectly captured the blend of sophistication and fun that defined the day.

Allison & Conner shared a private first look before the ceremony, allowing them a moment just to soak in the day together. Surrounded by the vibrant fall colors, with mountains in the distance, it was a serene and truly moving moment. Those first-look photos are filled with so much love and excitement—you can feel their connection and the anticipation they shared for the day ahead.

As the afternoon unfolded, Allison & Conner shared their first dance, then spent time mingling with their closest family and friends. The reception was laid-back, just as they envisioned, with fall-colored trees as the backdrop and the delicious aroma of pastries and coffee filling the air. One of the sweetest moments came at the end of the afternoon when the two shared a private last dance together—a beautiful way to savor a few last moments alone before heading off to their happy ever after.
